Bringing a greater diversity of job roles into Pathways One

Diverse roles

Last week we released an update that significantly expands the range of roles and video stories available in Pathways One.

More roles, more depth

Pathways One has always highlighted real people talking about their careers through short video stories. Previously, these were mapped at the career area level, giving a solid overview of each field.

With this update, we've expanded the roles sitting within each career area, giving students a richer, more realistic picture of where a career can take them. A student exploring 'Beautician' roles, for example, now discovers Make-up Artist, Nail Technician, and Tattooist alongside Beauty Therapist and Beauty Consultant.

Typical roles in Pathways One

Videos are now mapped to specific roles rather than broad career areas, making each story feel directly relevant rather than loosely connected.

Richer, more diverse sources

Our video stories previously drew exclusively from the iCould library. They now pull from a growing range of sources including iCould, NHS, Prospects, National Careers Service, UCAS, and TIAH, with more to follow.
