Later this month we have a pretty big update coming to all Pathways accounts. With visual enhancements where Pathways is embedded on your website and improvements behind the scenes, we’re excited to give you a preview.
We’re always working on improving the Pathways products and features, responding to your feedback to ensure the products are working hard for you and helping you engage with your prospective audience.
Later this month, we have a sizeable update coming to Pathways that our team has been working on since last year.
Updates to Pathways in your website
Pathways One and Pathways Graduate will see an update to their user interface. Improving user engagement has been a key focus with this update to ensure the tools go beyond just relaying information and statistics.
We are introducing photos and videos into Pathways One and Graduate for every career area in the system. This visual update ensures that every career view carries greater engagement and encourages the user to spend time consuming and interacting with the content, rather than seeing it as a data-led infographic.
Each career area will have a short 5 second looping video of someone working in that career.
Whilst we understand video content carries a slightly larger file size, we’ve worked hard to keep these sizes low. And feel the benefit of video content is worth the small increase in file size. The initial load of Pathways in your pages won’t be affected by video and image content, as these are non-blocking elements.
Images will be in place where you have chosen to disable video content.
Furthermore, we have improved the display of 'Employment projection' with a new style of chart to display this information that we feel is easier to understand.
Welsh language support
One of the benefits of upgrading our core system is the ability to offer Welsh language support. This has been a much requested feature and are excited to offer this to all our Welsh clients at no extra cost.
Reporting and insights
We have improvements coming to the way we report on certain data and the speed at which our reports are generated in your Pathways admin.
Firstly, we are introducing a new metric to record when an embedded Pathways instance is visible in a user’s viewport. Where you have very long pages, Pathways may load further down the page but never actually be viewed. We are now recording when Pathways passes into view.
Secondly, we are now recording dwell time. This will provide you with data on the average amount of time a user is looking at Pathways when embedded in your pages.
And finally, our new admin system has vastly improved the speed at which your insights data is returned when viewing your reports.
The Pathways system
Our core Pathways system has seen a significant upgrade, with additional features and improvements across everything we do.
Your admin system will look a little different with a visual refresh, however everything will continue to work as it does now.
You may have already noticed, however we've also updated our logo 😉.
Going live
Your Pathways account will automatically receive these updates. You will not need to do anything or make any changes.
Once live, you will continue logging in as you do now. All URLs for accessing the admin system and embedding Pathways in your website will remain the same.
All Pathways clients will be notified via email with dates for these changes coming into effect.
