A busy January at Pathways

A busy january

It’s been a very busy and exciting start to the year at Pathways, with new feature releases, lots of new clients, and supporting two of our favourite conferences - HELOA and the College Marketing Network.

Product updates

We rolled out a large product update in January, introducing a number of enhancements designed to further optimise the performance of the Pathways platform. Two of the key features in this release came directly from your feedback:

Regional data in Pathways Graduate

University clients have always been able to choose between institution-level or national data when displaying graduate career outcomes in Pathways Graduate. Following feedback from a Scottish university, we’ve extended this functionality to include regional data.

For example, a university in Scotland can now choose Scottish data, while a London university can select London-specific data - alongside the existing institution and national options.

These updates are now live within your account, where you can specify both primary and secondary data sources.

Related courses ordered by relevance

A long-requested feature in Pathways Explore was for related courses to be ordered by relevance to a career, rather than alphabetically.

This has now been rolled out for both FE and HE clients. Any courses related to a career in Pathways Explore are automatically ordered by how relevant they are to the career being viewed, helping students make clearer, more informed connections.

Welcoming new clients

It’s been a great start to the year for onboarding new clients. In HE, we’re delighted to welcome Queen’s University Belfast and the University for the Creative Arts.

In the FE sector, we’re pleased to welcome Hull College, Midsomer Norton Sixth Form, Longley Park Sixth Form Academy, and Chesterton Community Sports College.

With more clients currently going through procurement, it’s been a fantastic start to the year — and we’re not even in February yet!

Conferences

We’re proud to be in our third year of supporting the HELOA conference, and had a great time in Stratford-upon-Avon speaking with HE colleagues about how Pathways can support marketing and student recruitment activity.

Next week we’re off to Birmingham for the College Marketing Network Annual Conference and FE First Awards. We’re delighted to be back supporting Emma and her team.

Pathways will have an exhibition stand (come and try our Top 5 Careers game and win cinema tickets), we’ll be delivering a talk titled “Knowledge builds confidence, insights earn trust” with an early look at our 2025 data and FE Student Choices Survey, and we’re proud to be sponsoring the Marketing Small Team of the Year award.

Time to get the tuxedo out again!

Whirlwind

The last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind, but it’s a great place to be. Thank you all, as ever, for your continued support.
